Thanks, now I know what you mean. I have seen many different ones. Again, thanks for teaching me a "new" word, I am trying to learn as much english as I can .

I have seen some very basic methods such as high/ low beep nosies from a DMM and also regular voltage reading to indicate and decode the engine code.

I am assuming the creader word comes from Code reader uh?

Carlos

creader is the product name. and yes you can leave it plugged in... it reads trouble codes and deletes them with no input from you.

the problem is thoe, what if somethingis really wrong and the think deletes the code so you don't see it. could be a potential problem.

when the engine isn't running, it will got through the 1 - 2 - 3 then E. when the engine is running, it should go through the numbers and end with all dashes ----. if it isn't doing that, then the reader is probably one of the ones that has problems reading the evo's ecu. i know vishnu had some problems with some the earlier creaders.

check w/dustin @vishnu and he can tell you from where the logo is on the unit if it is one of the ones that won't work with the evo.
