Talking TT does it again!!!

I just want to start off saying thanks to the guys at TT for the awesome tune and the friendly helpful service.

Well yesterday the day finally came to get the evo tuned and couldn’t wait to see what the car can do. My mods are minimal so I wasn’t expecting too much but me and the guys at TT were lil surprised at the numbers that were put down.

My mods consist of:

Buschur TB catless exhaust with magnaflow muffler

Injen intake w/upper IC pipe

AMS lower IC pipe

Greddy type-s BOV

Boost controller

255lph fuel pump

22psi on 93 octane

On a 2005 GSR

When I pulled in I was without a flash at 18psi and made 285whp…not bad. After the tuning and turning the boost up to 22psi the car made 325.5whp and 332tq! I was def more than pleased with those numbers and the car feels like a beast now. I will post up the dynojet graph later today. Next nice day I will be hitting up Englishtown and see what she can do at the track. Im going to throw a 50/50 mix of 93 and 110 in and crank the boost up to 26psi and hopefully pull at high 11 second run with these minimal mods. Ill keep you guys updated. Thanks again TT!

Well i went to the track tonight an ran with these mods and race gas with 27psi...i was hoping for a lil better but im not sure if i got the mixture right...my gas light was prob 10-15 miles away from goin on and i put 5 gallons of 110 in. figured that should be about the right 50/50 mix. The car weighed in at 3346lbs also. Anyway here is the time slip...im the one on the left with the 12.4. the car on the right was another evo that had a GT35R, cams, front mount cooler and all the other bolt ons to support the mods...not sure what was wrong with him lol...its was a red evo with a bunch of stickers on it tuned by Sean Ivy.

^tirespin perhaps? cuz for a 2.7 60' it must means that he either spun around for a sec or he released the clutch too fast or too slow and the car jerked....maybe his clutch gave up??

no i just think he didnt lauch it....it was a nice car, about 15k in aftermarket stuff or more. sumthing had to be up with his shifting too cause even with a crap launch he should have caught up to me no problem. he was runnin 28psi and race gas also. i was gonna ask if i could try it down the track once, last time i had to show sum kid in a brand new white 05 last year how to drive his car. he was runnin a mid 14 i got it to a 14.1 but then i found out he put like a half a tank of C16 in on a 100% stock evo lol. people shouldnt mess with stuff if they have no idea what they are doing.

I think youd be suprised if you just ran straight 93 and saw your numbers, I bet theyd be similar. 5 gallons is actually a bit much race fuel. I did that on the street with my car one time, and cranked the boost to 26psi. However the next weekend I just put in a gallon on top of 2-3 gallons 93 and boost was at 24psi.... felt noticeably faster than when I had more race gas in it.

On a side note, great numbers for no cams! I think people tend to underrate a good combo like yours. Now throw some GSC or HKS 272s in there and you should have 350whp for sure!

yea i think im going to race again at the evo/sti day at englishtown next weekend. Im just goin to run like a gallon of c16 with 2-3 gallons of 93 and turn the boost up to like 25psi. On my 3rd run last night i even cranked the boost up a little more to like 29psi ( i knew i had a pretty high octane mixture) and no gains...i had an identical run as what it posted up above. To tell u the truth i didnt really feel any noticable gains with the race gas and higher boost last night. Well see what i do next weekend.

See, thats exactly how I felt. I think the best thing unless you have a race gas map is to just put ina little better fuel and crank the boost 1-2psi.
