TTR 50trim kit

i got a couple of questions on your 50trim kit. your website is down, i couldn't get any information on this product. i have an evo ix, my goal is to reach 400awhp without meth/alky, without a built motor and a standalone. i have ecuflash and it was tuned by Mark, he did a great job on it. the question is how safe is it to run this turbo kit without a standalone and a built motor? it is a daily driver, i wanna install it and get it tuned by you guys and just leave it as is. (thats part of the reason i don't want a standalone) also, can i get an alcohol injection kit without the standalone? if not i can deal with it. thanks for your time Mike.

you can get a meth kit without a stand alone. on my nine i have just the ams meth kit with cams and all the bolt ons and i made 365 awhp and 385 tq. i think without the meth the 50 trim should easily make over 400 awhp. i am doing the ams 50 trim this spring with meth and i hope to make well over 400 awhp closer to 500 awhp. good luck and keep me posted. but i think you should consider meth or race gas to realize the full potential of the new turbo.

thanks man, i'll definitely keep u posted! are you getting a standalone with their 50trim? im on my stock clutch right now, i don't plan to upgrade until its out. so... i don't wanna make too much power to kill it, also i don't have a deep pocket like some other people.

A friend of mine...benji, made 395 awhp on ams's 50 trim kit. It was avery conservitave tune at 22psi on pump gas. He also uses a high flow cat. So its easily done!

stock ecu. your clutch should be fine with normal driving. but hanging by a thread. i'm going with the Exedy EVO VII/VIII/IX Hyper Twin Clutch W/ High Clamp Load Press. it's pricey but i figure do it right the first time. plus my car will be at the shop for over a week so i might as well do everything at once.

You should replace your clutch before putting in the turbo kit. What's the point of getting a turbo kit if you're just going to baby it?

i think 400whp for the ix will be easy to get with the TTR 50 Trim even without EMS.

Brian,

Our 50trim kit usually makes 415-425 on a flash with 750cc injectors, full 3" catless exhaust, intake, and a walbro fuel pump.. thats on an evo IX. Thats at about 22psi on 93 octane. You can run alky injection without the AEM. The AEM EMS is recommended because of the added safety features. We are able to wireup the alky kit to the AEM, it will switch maps and if you have an electronic boost control boost as well, if the kit fails for any reason.

How much faster does it spool on a IX Vs. an VIII? Amazing that this power is reached without a cam upgrade, I was hoping if you saw some added spoolup.
