MIL.SPEC product release for leaking throttle bodies
In our experience, if you are still running on the OEM Throttle shaft seals, you most likely have a boost leak. With ‘03/04 Evo's, we have witnessed an 80% chance that your OEM throttle shaft seals are cracked.
If you own a 05/06 Evo, those odds increase to over 90%
MIL.SPEC seals are metal cased, like the OEM units, but offer SUBSTANTIALLY more lip seal thickness.
OEM seal:
MIL.SPEC seal:
Our vendor claims they can hold 50+ psi, but we have only tested them to 35psi on one of our cars during a boost leak test with ZERO Leakage
This is a good idea whether you're running a ported throttle body or an OEM unit.

I just installed these this weekend.......price was right, shipping was fast.
I installed the machV seals about a month ago and after the install I boost leak tested them and they leaked right away (imo they just aren't a good seal). I know, i should have bought the works seals, but its against my religion. Thankfully i heard about these seals and promptly order them - after installation I had 0 (audible) leakage from the TB and all is fine n' dandy.
Long term test will just have to wait and see - im confident they will hold up to the test.
Thanks

i have a question. is zero leakage really zero leakage?
can you pump 35psi in there and have it hold indefinitely, or is there some acceptable bleeding allowed. i did a boost leak test the other day and still run the recirc dump valve, so i had to block of the rocker cover vent and some other hose going to the what i believe is related to some fuel apparatus since they would both cause leaking.. even after doing that pressure would bleed off, but without any audible leaking.
