**AMS PRODUCT RELEASE** EVO X Intake Fan Sheild

AMS EVO X Intake Fan Sheild

Well it took us a little while to get this piece just right but in the end it worked out quite nicely. so what it is you ask? well let me explain.

The AMS intake along with several other systems incorporate an open element air filter. Under wide open throttle situations this allows for a great deal of air to be fed to the turbo and subsequently the engine. This yields more horsepower which is always a good thing

Well a byproduct of that open filter is that it is left at the mercy of turbulent air at idle. Normally this is not a problem but the EVO X has a pretty sensitive mass air flow sensor and any erratic changes in air at idle can cause your idle to fluctuate and possible cause the car to stall out. The fact that the radiator fan points right at the filter adds to the problem.

HERE IS THE SOLUTION:

AMS has come out with a simple and inexpensive solution to enjoy all the HP gains from an AMS intake and not lose any driveability.

for only $49.95 you can not only block the turbulent fan air from hitting your filter but you can dress up your engine bay in the process! We are now including this piece with all new intake kits priced at $335.00

Retail: $49.95

To help out our existing AMS intake owners we are going to be offering free shipping on this piece to anywhere in the continental US so long as you can provide us proof of purchase!

From the looks of things this should work in conjunction with other aftermarket intakes similar in design to ours but we cannot guarantee it will fit ANY OTHER INTAKE BUT AMS at this time.

Here are some pictures of the piece installed:
