**JAM** Customer Spotlight on Neverneverman

We would like to congratulate Neverneverman (Paul Martin) and thank him for his continued support of JAM. He is one of our sponsored customers and just finished a great season of record setting performance.

Paul is running our Stage 3 2.3L shortblock package topped with our Stage 3 ported cylinder head and valvetrain in his Evo VI. This setup includes our JAM-Spec custom Venolia pistons, Oliver billet rods and 100mm crank. The cylinder head is equipped with HKS 280 cams, JAM +1mm nitride coated valves, JAM dual valve springs and titanium retainers. The head also features our full port work including runners, chamber and bowl work enhanced by our custom valve job. On pump gas the car makes 510whp and on race gas it makes 568whp. This is a bulletproof engine with over 10k hard miles on it, both on the track AND on the street! Paul competed in over 25 racing events this past year alone. The only required maintenance since the engine went into the car is routine oil changes.

Paul competes in the MLR Super Sprint series and has finished 4th overall in 2007 and moved up to 2nd in 2008. The best standing Km time Paul has posted is a 19.03 seconds @ 173.3mph. The best ET to date is a 10.58@133 on road racing tires and suspension Paul also competes in the TOTB (Ten of the Best) competition in the UK and finished 9th overall out of over 100 cars. Not bad for a street legal car that tips the scales at 3,020lbs. No tin can here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE6tC3rIDSU

http://www.totb.co.uk/home/

"Ten of the Best (TOTB) is a performance road car event, aimed at finding the best allround car in Europe. Handling, top speed and the 1/4m drag strip are used to determine the outcome.

All the cars that compete in our main road class competition are road legal, taxed, tested and insured. There is also a new "pro-drag class" for the ultimate drag only cars. Many of the cars thaqt compete at TOTB are modified, some to the extreme. Many of the entrants have built and modified their own vehicles, while others represent the cream of the crop from the Tuners and Garages that specialise in the type of cars we see competing.

Points are awarded in each of the three events overall, making it extremely difficult to score points in all events unless the car and driver are on top form on the day!
The Pro-Drag class will have its own shootout final and trophy, with regular head to head runs during the day."

Paul was also featured in the Mitsubishi Lancer Register's publication, Wastegate Chatter. The car was driven by an independent third party who set a new track record. To top it off, the record was set on a wet track surface!

"...the acceleration is staggering, akin to firing a ram jet; in only 110 feet the car accerlerates to 108mph!"

"But it is also the shear response of this big tubro'd car that amazes me, with very very little lag in the lower gears."

Big thanks to Jackson for the great support for last year and continued support for this year
The Engine package supplied by Jackson has been faultless ! With only oil and filter changes regularly , every 2 events .
I replace the oil pump after last years season as a precaution , but the old unit was fine on checking ..

So any one needing a motor package Say no more, Ring JAM .

Congratulations to both Paul and JAM,

What turbo are you running? I had JAM do a 2.3L setup for me about the same I believe n 2006. This is a DD with Jun 272's and a Shearer 35R turbo kit. I drove an SRT-8 charger and this was my son's car. He is off at school in Boston and I nover drove a stick but need a car due to one being down. I took his. This thng is faster than anything I have ever driven before and threw my head back much harder than the 425 HP Charger ever did. I got rid of the Charger and confiscated his car while he's not home. I have only Changed the oil since the build and have never had a problem with the engine.

Regards,
Maurice

Im reading that graph right and its 568 whp and 700 ft lbs/TQ all the way from 4500 to 7k ?
Now that is a sick powerband. Makes me want a 2.3. Do you (JAM) think its better to go with a 100mm crank in a 4g63 or go with a destroked 4g64 ? If the block was machined for oil squirters and such.

Congrats on the car. It looks great. Wish I had a JAM short block.

"in only 110 feet the car accerlerates to 108mph"?

I'm thinking that's either a typo, or the car was starting at 80 mph... , right?

Congrats to all involved ! I saw the feature in the latest magazine from across the pond. Very impressive indeed. It's nice to see a company who has a complete facility in-house to machine, inspect, and test all aspects of an engine. Many call themselves engine builders, most are assemblers who have no idea how or why a process is done they just bolt parts together. Many can’t even degree a set of cams. Having the proper equipment and know how separates the real engine guys from the profilers, and the guys and gal at Jackson are the real deal.

Thanks Jim. You've been around long enough to tell the difference between the real players and the wanna be's
