OFFICIAL Tanabe R&D Testing for May 2009 :: Looking for EVO X
Hey All,
It's been a while, but we're doing another R&D Testing Session using the new EvoX. Testing starts in May, and we're looking for a few donor cars.
We're going to be testing:
Exhaust
Suspension
If you're interested in participating, please check the details here:

Thanks!

Well, we always prefer cars that are completely stock.
The reason being that we post before-and-after pictures, comparing stock suspension to our suspension. In those pictures, undoubtedly, the car's exhaust will be visible, and we really don't want to be indirectly advertising our competition's parts.

I can't make any guarantees, but I will say that I don't want to leave our generous owners of test cars empty-handed. You may get to take home the R&D parts, especially if the testing is successful.
But like I said, no guarantees. Sometimes, we run into a situation where we test a coilover/spring/exhaust etc on a certain car, but then after testing, the engineers decide that changes need to be made before we release the product to the public. In which case, the part would need to be removed and sent back to Japan for revisions.
Unlike some of our competitors, all of our parts have extensive testing behind them prior to release.
That said, although its not a 100% for-sure situation, consider the Tanabe R&D session as a CHANCE to get a top quality item for free.

UPDATE
So, we're still scheduled to do testing for the Evo X, but the dates have been pushed back. It's going to be anywhere between 1 week - 3 weeks later than originally scheduled. Thanks again to Israel, our tester, for being an understanding guy.
And for those of you who have a few minutes to kill, here's the story:
I'm sure you've all heard of "swine flu" by now. Overall, it's been somewhat blown out of proportion here in the United States by our lovely media. However, it's nothing compared to what the media in Japan is doing. Basically, due to media influence, everyone in Japan is absolutely terrified of catching the swine flu -- to the point where it hampers travel to and from the USA.
If the R&D team were to come to the USA now, they would be quarantined for 10 days upon returning to Japan in order to ensure that the disease doesn't spread to the Japanese public. And Tanabe Japan can't afford to have their engineers out of commission for 10 straight days. Apparently, it's ... yes ridiculous.
And so, due to such dumb things, they've got to wait until the whole "swine flu scare" dies down before they come over. I know -- it sucks. I too was expecting to see a bunch of cool stuff open coming in to work this morning. Anyways, R&D will still happen, but just a bit later than planned.
That's it for now -- I'll keep you updated via this thread as news reaches us over here at Tanabe USA.
Thanks!
