COBB Tuning releases EVO X Cat Back Exhaust

Presenting the COBB Limited Edition 3” SS Cat Back Exhaust for the Mistubishi EVO X. This direct replacement cat back exhaust boasts 304 stainless steel construction, a custom high-flow straight-through muffler design and impressive exhaust note. Limited to a production run of just 50 units, this beautifully fabricated exhaust will not be available for long.

Significant attention was devoted to the packaging of this exhaust. Tubing diameter was increased to 3" and bends were kept to a minimum with large radii for optimum flow characteristics. Fitment was extensively worked to ensure maximum ground clearance to accommodate cars with very low ride heights. Designed as a direct replacement for the factory cat back exhaust, it uses all of the stock mounting points and is compatible with the factory cat pipe as well as the previously released COBB High Flow Cat Pipe.

The unique muffler in this exhaust is custom designed for this application and features an internal "Y" to provide maximum straight through flow from a transversely mounted muffler. This design allows much higher flow rates than typical EVO X chambered transverse mufflers which significantly increase backpressure and limit total power output.

Potent performance need not attract the attention of over-zealous law enforcement. Despite the superior flow characteristics of the COBB EVO X Cat Back exhaust, it still conforms to strict SAE sound emission requirements of 95 decibels, even when paired with the COBB EVO X Downpipe and COBB EVO X Cat Pipe. The twin oval tips are positioned to mimic the factory set-up and follow the lines of the rear bumper cover, giving a purposeful yet subtle look.

The COBB Limited Edition 3" SS Cat Back Exhaust for the EVO X offers unmatched performance, OEM fitment, innovative engineering, outstanding craftsmanship and 50-state legal sound compliance. This uncompromising cat back exhaust is now in stock at COBB Tuning (Salt Lake City, UT), COBB Tuning Plano (Plano, TX), Surgeline Tuning (Portland, OR) and select authorized COBB Tuning Dealers, but only for a limited time.

Nice exhaust if your area necessitates the sleeper look. I'm not a fan of oval tips period and like the AMS catback this is another unit I have to cross off my list due to the tips.

If the muffler and piping is of good quality I don't mind spending the money but I just don't want to spend $1200 on an exhaust that looks just like the stock one.

If the local police are **** harass modded car drivers this would probably be an excellent choice though.

The AMS exhaust has some additional trickery that bumped up its cost into this range (a few more flanges, expensive v-band clamps, etc.). I don't see where the additional cost is going on these.

I like the oval tips way more than plain circular ones. Practically every exhaust has those, so it's nice to see other options. I was originally waiting for Cobb's quad tip version, which looked amazing, but since after all this delay it finally came out with oval tips I'm glad I gave up waiting and got the AMS.

It looks good; the price is about the same as the Legamax muffler + center pipe which looks like the same setup, only that the HKS is around 65mm (2.5in);

Any video of this setup?

Don't get me wrong, I love it when manufacturers come out with new products for the Evo, Cobb especially makes excellect stuff, but $1200 for a CBE with ugly tips is just too rich for my blood.

Yeah, after staring at it with my wife eyes (the one that controls the money ) it seems a bit uglish for $1,200

I like the Ti-Rounded Tips of the HKS; sexy stuff

Oh Shiit! $1200 for this? I bet it was considered a limited type to see how the market reacts to the design and possibly cost.

As for market value, no more than $700 tops.

I like the fact that it just about appears stock and the 50-state sound compliance, but yikes $1200 is steep.

Are only 50 units being made ever?

While this exhaust system may carry a premium price, the attention to detail and quality crastmanship are what make the COBB Tuning exhaust for the EVO X special. The muffler is custom built with a "y" integrated inside that allows a dual straight-through design. All of the internals are 304 grade stainless. This muffler design is unique to COBB Tuning and is what makes this exhaust quiet with the flow characteristics of other louder systems.

All of our systems are built by hand, here in the United States.
