Douglas Autoworks Modified Alternator, NOW AVAILABLE WITH OVERDRIVE PULLEY!

Today we just released a new Overdrive (small) pulley option for our rebuilt/modified alternator. This new option is going to offer 20% more output than the standard modified alternator not only at idle but throughout the RPM range! This means an even higher boost to your charging system and thus will accomodate even higher draws from your electrical system. This is definitely an item/option people should look into when running a boosted ignition system, larger fuel pump(s), and any other added electronics. This alternator grouped with the small pulley option is a must for cars utilizing a small battery!

Thanks,
Mike

The price is dependent if you are sending your core prior to receiving the new rebuilt/modified alternator.

Most people drive their cars daily and don't have the ability to "down" their car for close to a week while purchasing an alternator. In that case we would charge for the core up front and refund upon receiving it from the customer.

For a Rebuilt/Modified Alternator with overdrive pulley and shorter belt including a 225 core charge would come to 445.

There are different options depending on the route you'd like to go on our website. www.DouglasAutoworks.com

I do not understand how a modified alternator will have more output when you defeat its purpose by installing a larger pulley to slow it down. Unless you mean overdrive pulley?
Don

Crank pulley smaller = under drive [ accessories will turn slower ]
Crank pulley larger = overdrive [ accessories will turn faster ]
Accessory pulley larger = under drive [ accessory will turn slower ]
Accessory pulley smaller = overdrive [ accessory will turn faster ]

Roadrunr, I think we misworded it. It would be considered a overdrive (smaller) alternator pulley providing more output from the alternator. Thanks for correcting me on my wording.

How do I go about sending mine in? The car is down right now. I don't mind a little wait. PM me with details.

Alternator

Mayberry- The best way to go about this is to place the order online with any and all options you'd like to add to the rebuilt/modified alternator. There's a pull down menu that asks how you'd like to work the core charge. Fill out necessary information and either send in your first or we do have some circulating cores that can be sent prior to receiving yours. If you have any questions regarding this process dont hesitate to give us a call at 630-894-6130, ask for mike. Thanks again for the interest in our alternator.
