A lot of STM Evo X love lately.

I love my job. I drive nice cars and take pictures of awesome things. Lately at STM, "awesome things" have been newly developed Evo X parts

With this new product line-up, I'm really considering getting another X!

The latest and greatest is the STM Aluminum Dual-Tip Exhaust. These sound amazing. Very quiet at idle, but roars at WOT! On the dyno, during a pull, we set the alarm off on an Eclipse in the parking lot.

STM EVO X ALUMINUM DUAL TIP CAT-BACK EXHAUST

And, yeah, I can hold the entire cat-back up with one hand. It's 11 pounds.

VIDEO
Here's a terrible Instagram video, but at least you can hear the very audible difference between idle and WOT I have an aluminum exhaust on my Evo VIII (Ricer) and as far as keeping the tips clean, it's very easy. I wash the inside with soapy water and a soft "scrubby" and give it that cross-hatching treatment. Once all the black exhaust gunk is cleaned out, we end up with a perfect exhaust pipe. The outer pipe is already polished aluminum, so it's easy to just freshen up with some mag polish and an old t shirt. Boom. Show stopper.

And for comparison... the Titek titanium exhaust is one pound HEAVIER... and costs $2500.

But if 11 pounds is too heavy...

We have the STM ALUMINUM CAT-BACK EXHAUST (SINGLE EXIT)

This guy weighs only 7.8 pounds!! Seriously. We all know the Evo X is a fat pig and that stock turbo just doesn't want much more than 360 HP (at least on our dyno). The best way around that is to mod AND lose weight.

People always question why the STM cars are so much faster than a similar car with the "same" mods. We do it right.

If you're serious about racing and can run a test pipe... our aluminum pipe drops another 14.75 pounds!

STM 3" ALUMINUM & STAINLESS RACE PIPES | EVO X

We just released today the FMIC and Intake Kits for the X also:

STM FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER

(stop looking at ricer... hahaha)

Our intercooler is a 3" Garrett core and will support 750 hp. Plenty of room to flow air and there is usually no need for a 4"+ core... it's just extra weight

The STM INTAKE PIPE KIT is beautiful by itself. I love the brushed aluminum finish! but polished aluminum is an option as well. And again, lightweight!

Also our STM ALUMINUM UPPER INTERCOOLER PIPE KIT

These come polished, but if you ask nicely I'm sure you can get the brushed finish to match above also.

Thought I'd share some of the candy I've been taking photos of lately for the Evo X. If anyone wants to buy a silver 03 Evo daily driver... I might have one for sale soon. Can't seem to get her out of my mind...

high res

Even the X pumpkin is still my favorite. And god, how I hated that X... now I kinda miss it.

Happy Halloween Evo X'ers.

It doesn't seem to be a complaint thus far of it being too loud, but we have a few more X's out on the streets with them, and we can customize accordingly. Looks like there is room under there for a larger resonator. Another option could be for us to add a resonator in the test pipe. Still a "race" pipe, but it will still flow more, and keep quiet.

That's actually the next move for my own car. It's pretty reasonable for a "race/street" car, but to be quieter and not sacrifice HP... cool.

The parts look nice and light, which are good for a racecar like the evo x!

Can the intake and IC piping be powder-coated when initially ordered or would I need to have that done after receipt?

We are pretty close with Justin at Dectitive Coating and he does a great job. I'm sure we could work something out with him.

What would be really cool is to polish the aluminum and have it anodized! $$$ baller though. But still just as light. Powdercoating is extra weight. Hey, these things matter when you're trying to break records.. And look good doing it

The dual aluminum exhaust is fantastic. I just put one on my car and it's unbelievably light. I can't even put in words how much lighter it is than a standard stainless 3 inch catback. It took roughly another 10 lbs off of my car switching to it. As far as sound it's just perfect in my opinion, not too loud, not too quiet. My car is goin to STM shortly and will have all of these parts on it. Maybe having another white x around will make shawna get another one. Our cars look pretty identical lol.

For the weight saving on a dual and the review of the sound. Im sold! It will just take me a few months of budgeting out mod money.
