Hello from IRPerformance
I wanted to say hello to everyone on this board. I have been following it for quite some time and there is a lot of good info, support, and sponsors on here. I own IRPerformance. We are a specialty shop located in Metuchen, NJ.
Before I tell you about the shop, let me tell you a little about my self. I have been building and modifying cars since I bought my first Mustang almost 20 years ago when I was high school. At the time I just did the basic bolt-ons, but to a teenager it was pretty fast. I remember a few years later I lost a race to a third generation Mazda RX-7.
I became fascinated with that car and turbo imports in general. I sold the Mustang and bought a 1994 RX-7. Initially I sought out the help from some local so called "specialist shops". There were some good place, and a whole lot of bad ones. Eventually I learned to do everything myself. Over the course of a few years, I took that RX-7 from stock and built it into a 500 wheel hp track car. I actually went to school to be an airplane mechanic, but always preferred cars.
I worked at several shops. Even moved across the country to be one of the head techs at Gotham Racing in Texas. I tend to go through a lot of cars. I had several other RX-7s, a few Hondas, then went back to the domestic side and built a 500 wheel hp 03 Mustang Cobra. I had my fun with that car, but ended up selling it. Later I purchased a 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. That was a fun truck. It was low 12s with just bolt ons. I've always liked the Evo platform, so I decided to get and Evo X as a personal car. I've had experience with wide range of platforms. I learned to do things the right way without shortcuts.
7 years ago I opened IRPerformance. We have a reputation for being one of the best with rotary engines, but we work on all cars, especially forced induction imports. We do a lot of Evos, Subarus, Nissan 240s and 350/370z, and many others. Some of our services include:
Engine builds, stock to race and everything in between.
Custom turbo kits.
Performance modifications.
Suspension setup.
Custom fabrication.
Welding , Tig and Mig.
Maintenance.
Tuning.
Parts Sales.
We treat each car as if it were our own and try to work with every customer and every budget. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on here and would be more than help with whatever anyone needs.
