You may be right, perhaps that's why there is so little info on it. Especially no pictures.

I believe that the WORKS short shifter does indeed require modification on the stock 6-speed shifter. I had this installed this past weekend up in San Francisco and didn't get my OEM part back.

It feels great, btw.

true, but I have found that everything they sell is also thoroughly tested / researched, and comes with the same warranty you had on your stock part. So I'd rather pay more up front and have a more reliable car, than pay less up front, and have the car "out sick" more often. After all, driving is more fun than wrenching .

MR shifter is pretty complex with the reverse-lift ring. It is likely correct that they cut and rewelded the stock unit.
