You may be right, perhaps that's why there is so little info on it. Especially no pictures.

I believe that the WORKS short shifter does indeed require modification on the stock 6-speed shifter. I had this installed this past weekend up in San Francisco and didn't get my OEM part back.

It feels great, btw.

true, but I have found that everything they sell is also thoroughly tested / researched, and comes with the same warranty you had on your stock part. So I'd rather pay more up front and have a more reliable car, than pay less up front, and have the car "out sick" more often. After all, driving is more fun than wrenching

MR shifter is pretty complex with the reverse-lift ring. It is likely correct that they cut and rewelded the stock unit.
