Hey 06evo,

I have an 06 Evo MR with Greddy Evo2 and Tanabe 70mm DP. The beauty of Tanabe DP has already a welded exhaust gas temperature probe bung (with cap) if I want to monitor their temperature readings with a gauge.

I was tempted by the Tanabe esp because of the bung....but its not true 3"...Tanabe's one is about 2.75"...Turbo XS has a full 3" but no EGT bung . Went with the TurboXS in the end. Not sure if the Turbo XS will work with an IX though.

Does the invidia bolt right up? On all sites ive seen the DP at it states 03-04/5, doesnt the IX need an extra bend around the acd? Im considering the Invidia o2 and downpipe but cannot find if it fits the IX. Anyone with info on invidia and IX fitment

I have a IX with the Tanabe dp and my Defi egt is hooked up to the bung. Readings will be a little off, but I can deal with that for now.

Personally I think unless you have plans for more than 400whp you are fine with a downpipe that is 2.75". Plus the Tanabe is a very nice piece for cheap.

The reason why we use 70mm piping for the downpiping is:

1. For fitment with the factory bracing

2. 70mm will be very efficient for most vehicles under 400whp.

For cars running over 400whp, many are using custom turbo setups that have their own proprietary turbo and wastegate setup (custom downpipe).

We're happy you guys are enjoying our SUS304 downpipes! We have had a very hard time keeping up with the demand!

i'd check out XS engineering's racemax downpipe. it fits on 05 MR's fine so it should fit a 9 since both have ACD(any 05 for that matter) and it retails for $190. can't beat it, it is a high quality stainless piece. i'm not sure if it's true 3" but i think it is. anyway, it's worth checking out in my opinion. www.xs-engineering.com

I have a IX GSR and my 3" Helix v2 fits perfect (got mine ceramic coated but thats not really necessary) Its a little close to the oil pan but if you install the hangers first then then bolt it (all the way down) to the o2 housing then the cat/test pipe. That worked 4 me =), but it might depend how your catback hangs (I have the Works Catback and HFC so its OEM fitment)

imo the premium you pay for works products aren't worth the fitment. I'm going with the helix downpipe. Thanks for those great pics 5k6. I say either buschur or helix, good products priced competitively.

has anyone tried the LS 3" dp from lancershop.com?

It looks to be true 3" at both ends...
