The only thing that will change, with more power, is the amount of time it takes to reach a specific speed. Assuming good driving.
Help me understand. So your saying when AMS's 1000hp shop car comes barreling down the track they are also going 110mph at 7100-7200rpm?

Your prior 110mph ET was 12.5.

What is the 115 - 117 mph ET?

no problem.

I am really curious to see your results. With an awesome tune, all your mods, and the same setup you ran with last time (25-26psi & racegas) you should be trapping 115-116. With some killer driving you could get an 11!

I understand what everyone is saying about the mph being constant no matter what. I just sharing what I observed.

I agree. I mean my 2:00am freeway run might not be the most accurate indicator but I do strongly believe I am making more power. Only way to tell is go to the track and post up some times.

it depends on their tire diameter & final drive, but if they have the same setup as you even if they make 10,000 hp they will still be at 110mph @ 7k. Assuming 7k is actually when you reach 110mph.

The 115-117mph was from my 2:00am freeway pull, haha. Which is not the most accurate.

I think saying that it is "constant" was wrong. It is a matter of the ratios of the drivetrain components and not related to power. So, 2 cars with the exact same drivetrain ratios (transmission, differential, wheel/tire size) will be travelling the same speed at the same RPM regardless of horsepower. The one with higher horsepower will get there sooner of course, but at 7000 rpm in the same gear, they would both be travelling the same speed. Now, if one of the cars went from a 17" wheel to an 18" wheel, then the car with the larger wheels would be travelling faster due to the fact that they changed the final drive ratio of the car.

Alright everyone I understand. I'm the retard .

I did just get brand new tires about a week ago (Falken ZIEX 512), same size though but the old ones were pretty bald which means the new tires could be a bigger in diameter due to the new tread? Just a thought.

When a reflash comes out that I can change gearing via software like GT3, I am all over it!

When the 1st time i got tuned by TTP, I gained 4mph in the 1/4.. Went from 106 to 110 on pump @22 psi.. My mods at the time were TBE, o2 housing, mbc, flash, the rest of the car was bone stock..Need to go back to the track with now that i have a Walboro and a retune.. Hopefully, i can do 111-112

That is correct, at least the principle and the theory is correct. Since AMS Evo has different tiresd and perhaps different gear ratios it wouldn't apply but for any other Evo in the world with the same gear ratios and the same size of tires you would achieve the same speed at the same gear at the same rpm.

I think the problem on your topic was the misscommunication, I believe everyone on this forum would agree that you get from 110-117mph quicker but definately there is no other way that you could go faster under same rpm and gear.

I don't want to call this topic busted but even at the track you would need at least 50hp or more to increase 7 mph .

Just my .2c, not trying to be a hater nor disrespect your claims

Are you sure you didn't have any boost leaks when you ran at the track? Making 300whp on Buschurs dyno is like around 350whp on a Dynojet which is very strong.

Wow. First off as has been pointed out, you are incorrect. If you were doing 7200 rpm in 4th gear the MPH is going to be the same regardless of who's flash you use at the same RPM in that same gear. Yes, this also applies to AMS's car. The only difference is their tire is taller than yours so at 7200 rpm in 4th the car might be doing 120 mph compared to your 117 mph.

I can also assure you of something else. IF the car was actually knocking after Al did a custom tune on it when it was here THEN SOMETHING CHANGED SINCE THEN. NO doubt in my mind. Whether it was octane, boost, parts combination or something else, something changed.

I just had a very good customer contact me about the same thing, he is also in Cleveland. Said he bought the new scanning software and flashing software and noticed the car was knocking and said he wasn't happy. I told him what I am saying here, SOMETHING CHANGED. Well come to find out I was absolutely right (boy that's a surprise) and he had upped the boost. As soon as he returned the boost to the same point the car was tuned at all was well and the tune was dead on, just as it was when he was here.
