For some reason my topic was closed, and I really hope it was not because Topspeed requested. I originally posted
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I seriously do not think I need to publish my interactions w/ you/your business to get you to respond to my email, but if you do not respond one week from the time it was sent I will be left no other choice. Thank you

After this post was made I have received pms from 5 different people having problems with this tuner. Two of which are pretty serious problems, so I do not think this topic needs to be deleted.

Since I have done this a few times I will just give you the skinny.
they told me it would be a 6-7 hour job and to come back and pick the car up at 4 pm on a Sunday. I live in Augusta not Atlanta. I get there around 4 and they are not done. I sat there until 1030 that night waiting for them to finish. They did not tell me what was wrong until like 10. They kept saying about another hour about another 45 mins. BLAH BLAH. Unfortunately for me I paid when I got back there at 4 that afternoon because I expected the car to be done in the next 30 mins like they said. Since the clutch install has been completed it has not once stopped making noise. There is a loud noise coming from the tranny/clutch when the car is not moving and the clutch is not pressed in. While moving there is a loud loud loud noise coming from the clutch/tranny while decelarating in gear, engine braking. All of the rubber inspection bungs were missing when the car was returned to me. There was a large dental tool left under the hood, in the engine bay, of my car. I contacted them about the bungs and the tool and they said they would send my bungs out to me and the never did. They do good tuning from what I understand, BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO TOPSPEED FOR INSTALLS. I REPEAT DO NOT GO!!! This is a personal opinion and based on my experience with them.

What clutch did you go with? The noises you describe are normal on some clutches.

it is an Exedy Hyper Organic Single Disc. while i understand the decel noise, engine braking, maybe normal, but i do not believe that while the car is sitting still it should be making any noise from the tranny. i had another tuner/mechanic look at the car a few days after it was installed and they did not believe it had been done correctly and told me to just be very weary of it. he did not take the transmission off as he would have had to charge me for the labor, but since the inspection bungs were already missing he looked in at the clutch and throw out bearing and noticed abnormal dust build up for just a few days of driving.

The tranny noise is likely normal. The factory clutch setup is obviously designed to be quiet and user friendly. Aftermarket clutches make compromises. If there is a decell noise that means the flywheel and clutch disc are tranfering crankshaft harmonics to the drivetrain. The transmission gears can chatter at idle. I have run clutches that do this and it is a very disturbing sound. Sorry to hear your grief but it doesn't sound like topspeed did anything wrong. Clucthes are pretty simple. If you installed one wrong it wont work at all.

given your experience i will take your adivce into account; however, it does not discount the extra 6 hours on the install, all of the rubber grommets missing, or the tool left under my hood. i do appreciate your advice, considering Topspeed has offered none, and has only tried to pacify my complaints with excuses.

What do you want to "pacify your complaints"? It is not that hard to imagine that they would make a mistake and forget a tool or grommets in their hurry to complete your car while your were waiting on a Sunday. Then you come on here and trash them over noise that is probably normal. So, what do your expect them to do to pacify you?

Owning up to there mistakes, and actually doing what they said they would do. I am not an unreasonable person, and many people on here know this. They said they would send me the grommets they forgot to replace, so I supplied them with my address. They never did this and have deleted many of my threads on evose. If I were the only one that was having problems w/ them I would think nothing of it; however, there are several others that are having problems with them.
