Thumbs up Another Awesome IVEY Experience

I could keep this short and simple, but my experience with Sean Ivey was one of the best installation/tuning experiences I've had at a shop thus far.

I had a lot of parts to get installed, and Sean's crew, Pablo, the new mechanic, and Kenny got right on everything first thing in the morning, installing my pads and rotors (thanks EvoBrakes.net!!), LICP, ETS 3.5" I/C (thanks Tom!), GSC S1 cams (thanks TTP!), ARP head studs, Defi Boost gauge (thanks Evasive Motorsports!), new lugnuts. . .you get the drift, it was a lot of $hit to get done and one day, and deal with other customers.

As I worked, Kenny and his customers entertained me in the lobby while Pablo and the new mechanic slaved away in the horrible NJ pre-labor day heat. Car was done with all of the installation of parts by noon, except for the cams and head studs since we were waiting on FedEx to drop the head studs off (by 2pm).

Car was on the dyno by 4pm - I was testing it by 5pm:

Sean attempted to convince me to open up my stock exhaust, but since this is my DD and I'm tired of the unwanted attention from cops, I persisted.

320lbs tq isn't too shabby at the wheels for not having a turbo back, intake, or meth. . .on an 05 VIII!

Thanks Sean, Kenny, Pablo and the rest of the crew (ie new guy) for a great experience and quick turn around at VERY reasonable prices (Kenny even hooked me up with last minute parts like the MBC and ARP head studs at great prices some vendors on here would find difficult to beat)

Don't think twice about Iveytune.com . . . I recognize that The Shop, ICS, TurboTrix, and others are close by, but I have nothing but praise and high hopes for Sean's shop amongst all this competition. . .

Suneil

PS, also thanks aforementioned EvoM vendors for great prices over the past number of months - you've made modifying my Evo VIII a "reasonably-priced" tuning experience =)

Another note, all runs were done at ~93-94F, 33% Humidity, STD=1.03; AFR ~ mid 11's through out - I can take pics and load up if necessary. . . .(for those doubters out there). . .all runs done at ~23psi. . .

I'm glad you had a great experience. I just got tuned a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't be more pleased. He's got my business for life....or atleast until I sell the Evo....hehe

WOW stock exhaust? You should change it. There are many stealth exhaust and believe it or not it is the shiny fart cans that attract cops attention more then the sound. I believe tha there are people with Buschur Exhaust that Weld on the OEM muffler after gutting it. Stock exhaust there. You shoudl do that.

i agree, u can get the buschur w/ the muffler end or fujitsubo and get the end painted flat black for stealth. i mean ur throwing power away by keeping stock! i bet ivey was crying cuz he knew he could easy uncork another 20-30whp easily with 5 mins of more tuning

I know I'm like the only one these boards with that setup . . .and Sean was pi$$ed that he couldn't get more power, but he knew what my sound requirements were - I'll probably get a stealth cat back of some sort since I have a WORKS DP on there. . .that should "bump" me up to the mid-three's, which isn't too shabby for an VIII. . .
but not for now, I'm enjoying hearing that lovely flutter of the Forge DV. . .

you have no idea how happy you'll be tearing up Elizabeth street testing out Sean's tune after he's done. . .just cheek to cheek. . .the amazing thing about this setup is how I literally hold 23psi across the board. . .so nice not to have taper anymore. . .

There is no way you are holding 23PSI until redline on an OEM Turbo especially with a stock exhaust and cams. Unless of course youboost gauge is horribly off, mine was and said 25PSI LIARS they are sometimes. You MIGHT have 20PSI.
