-=sparktech Ignition = Wow=-

PICS ADDED

Well where can i start, after reading some posts of people having probs with the SPARKTECH COP ignition not working on stock ecu and some
people having misfire issues, I was wondering if I did the right thing spending the money getting one..
Typical ... you find out all the info once you have purchased the unit ..LOL! so I was thinking .."great money down the drain"

Well let me tell you i was WRONG!!!!!!

Only praise can be sent out to Craig from Sparktech.
customer service rocks, he had to attend a funeral and he still managed to get my COP shipped out across the pond.
Thanks again Craig for getting the unit out in a hurry and going out of your way to post it, you the man and customer service is top notch.

back to the igniton....
It came packaged well with all the items bubble wrapped and all individual pieces were in ZIP LOCK bags
Craig sent me out his Pro system with the polished ALU plate.
this is his new unit with the wire's going under the plate, so there are no wires running ontop with the new plate.
this creates a very clean and proffesional look!!
It looks so good it can pass as OEM..... HONEST!
The wiring is top notch and everything is a per M&W spec all is heatshrinked and uses the grey Varflex heat sleeving.

Quality is top notch and you can go wrong..trully amazed me at the work that has gone into making this unit and the quality is greta and cant stress it enough

sorry i dont have and pics with stuff packaged but i was so eager to get the unit on the car, and try it out...

Now the best part...
Installed the unit and car started first time.. normally my car when cold requires a few cranks with the one step colder HKS plugs
Started first time as i turned the key with the new ignition installed..
Idle is awesome and oh so smooth, even with the cossie M2 cams, it never loped before but it just so so smooth now, it is
better than when it was stock when i drove it off showroom floor.

Now I am not running stupid boost and was not getting and breakup with the stock ignition running an AMS 30r kit at 28 Psi.
But what a difference it has made to the car.. runs super smooth and pulls ever so eager to redline, it hard to explain but the car just
feels so much more responsive and smoother, it almost like you can feel the combustion taking place in the engine is so much better.

So just to clarify things ...It works on my autronic PnP ECU no problem and i am positive it will work with the stocker no problem.
I have not cut any wires ..simply plug and play.

If it ever crossed you mind and you werent sure if you were doing the right thing buying it.

Dooooooooo Eeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!
you won't regret it, money well spent and you will always need it when you move over to a a bigger turbo with more boost!!

next up is an HTA 35 going in with BUschur stage 3 head and block...
BIG BOOST!!!!...no worries ignition sorted

Installed pics to follow it's late and never had a chance to take some but will post some tom morning.

Thanks for looking

Nice set-up, very clean! Has Graig mentioned weather the Varflex heat sleeving
will be available in BLACK? Not sure if it matters now, I can't really see your Grey wires at all.

Trust me, NO ONE makes a more detail oriented product that works as flawlessly as SparkTech. Master Craig is the best!!

Thanks guys for all the encouraging comments. Thanks Johnny for the great pics and for a clean engine bay
We've been hard at work here. We have recently added the use of Tefzel wire on all of our systems. This is Mil-spec wire with a really thin insulation. This is used in military, aerospace, and commercial aircraft around the world. The insulation is super tuff and has a working temp up to 392 deg F (200deg C) along with the Varflex heat sleeve these harnesses will last a very long time under the hood of your evo

If you look clearly in pic 4 you can see them coming out, I just have tucked them under the other wires and they run under the intercooler pipes!!

Black would be awesome but you hardly see the grey and like craig says it is tough!!

Damn those are hot.

I have been meaning to get these for awhile now, but due to some unforseen things happening in my personal life I had to put it on hold.

Looks like its time to start saving for these. Now on the top of my list to buy.

Awesome.

Thanks again guys for the compliments. We are also hard at work in the final testing stages of our new non-cdi system with 4 individual cop coils This system is 100% plug and play and will feature special Spark tech spec high power coils This system has been performing beautifully on our daily driven evo 8 and we head to the dyno later this week for solid data...stay tuned

Craig - Do you sell a system without the polished metal plate and just something that is flat black or powder coated or something like that. Although the polished metal looks great I wonder if this is something a bit more stealthy.

Would the stock cover fit over the coils?

Our basic system comes with black powder coated mounting plate and all wiring is covered with heat shrink. Most after market coil covers fit right over the top this system. There is no difference in performance between or Pro-system and basic system just a little more bling
