I really don't know much about pump gas numbers, but I'm going to stick with my opinion that the SST has the capability to make about 10% more power than the stock IX turbo on E85 with similar setups (obviously both of those 460whp cars were all out). Of course, this really is hard to prove with the limited number of SST's out there, we just simply haven't had the time to market towards it harder. I do, however, know that most everyone running the SST is extremely happy. I'm certain cursedsm will feel the same way once he gets the bugs ironed out

I do know that Bills car is a monster with this turbo tho!

Some of us just prefer to do research before buying something. I do hope you realize how many prototype and untested parts are on my car though. I've done plenty of prototype and product testing over the past 2 years. Lots of questions and demands for proof always accompany a new product on the market. If I'm not involved in the design or testing of a certain product that I feel is going to work well I want to make sure I 100% know what exactly I'm spending my money on.

Ordered an SST for our Redline Time Attack Evo. This will be a modified VIII turbo with ported and coated 10.5 housing. I will try and get dyno results up within two months. Sorry for the delay but we need to get the car ready for our first track event and after that we will spend some time fine tuning it on the dyno.

Awesome! Can't wait to see the results from a car that sees a lot of heat and abuse!

I also want to make it clear that I am in no way bashing or saying anything at all regarding MAP or the SST turbo in my post from a little bit ago. They've been nothing but great to me and I'm running a few of their parts. I'm simply just attempting, although not very clearly, to say that I'm still waiting to see some nice definitive results from a car that doesn't seem to have any issues that still need attention or fixing.

Hey Chris this is Brian I just ordered the gsc cams from you the other day. I like this turbo to a point, but if I cannot reach what I want from it with the cams and an AMS fmic I am gonna go with a red. I like the spool factor of this turbo, I think over all its a pretty nice turbo for the most part. I talked to someone I forget who it was but they compaired it to a fp green and I'll be honest not a chance. Although I will say that it really isnt compairable, but its not far off. This turbo acts more like a stock turbo which I like, but if i can't make the #'s I want then I'm gonna upgrade yet again.

I wonder if shooting for 500whp with E85 and a 2.3L engine will push this turbo beyond its efficiency rating. Thoughts?

I don't want to start anything but I really don't think his is a freak. I made 360whp/337ft lbs 93 octane on a low reading TTP mustang dyno with just:

STOCK IX TURBO
Forge MBC (25psi)
Forge wastegate
megan o2 housing
GSC S1 cams
cat delete
catback
megan downpipe
megan tubular exhaust manifold
Walbro FP
injen intake kit
TTP tune

I have been told this is VERY average numbers for this car.

Thats not very impressive...i made 365whp & 350wtq on stock turbo, 93 oct only, 25 psi, stock cams & stock ported manifold in 3rd gear & i have a 6 spd...this was on Epic's dyno in fayetteville, NC...but those are just #s....

^ exactly they are just #'s but if mine is low then how would you call this turbo great with the numbers posted? That's kinda where I stand with this. Its all about the data and if someone brings more to the table that clearly shows how this turbo is worth the money then GREAT - please bring it! I'm just not anywhere near sold on this.

People make decisions on data when spending that kind of money not just because someone says its good. And that's all I gotta say about that.

lulz. Obviously you'd want same-dyno numbers. 350hp on the local Dyno Dynamics on E85 is a sweet IX. That's nearly 400hp on MAP's Dynojet. We know that because most of local Evo owners have run on both dynos.

haha... ok ok

ox·y·mo·ron

a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “to make haste slowly.”

Seriously though..maybe its the newb in me but could you please clarify as to why it is though. I was under the impression a mustang dyno reads lower.

Also, on post #474 he stated his was on a MD also so that is where I was making the comparison. I just don't see the major gain for $1200 - please clarify.
