Thanks CBRD!
Thanks CBRD!
I took my Evo to CBRD last week for a tune, and they probably saved me from seriously damaging my engine. I had a prior tune from someone else and was very happy with it, but a few months later I ended up replacing injector and throttle-shaft seals. After that, the car seemed a little flat under boost. It didn.t misfire or anything, but it just seemed "off" a little. Any way, during the first pulls, Chad noticed a puff of white smoke out of the tail pipe, and shut it down. He checked out the engine, and discovered that the stupid owner (!) had installed a check valve backwards which was causing the crank case to over-pressurize. He fixed the problem, and then did a compression check on all cylinders to make sure that I hadn't cracked a ring or anything. Turned out that I was lucky...180 psi in all four. The rest of the tune went fine. I only had about 50 miles on the car since I put the check valve in, and I would most likely have driven it until some real damage was done.
So, my trip to CBRD resulted in three really good things. They saved me from a big repair bill. My Evo now runs nice and crisp like it used to. And, I got to ride in Caleb's Evo on a lunch run. (What a surprise that was! The BBK Full is definitely my next mod.) Thanks again, CBRD.

Indeed! Chad and the CBRD team definitely know what they're doing. Good to hear you got your car there before any serious damage was done.
Oh and the BBK full is definitely a nice mod to have... how I wish I had one....
