Grimmspeed .... got to hand it to them.

It's been at least 4-6 months since I got a GS 3 port. When I first got it, the instructions and such were off, which they immediately picked up on and as far as I know have now fixed. Someone who isn't a doopey guy like me would likely have been able to figure it out, and I finally did, but... I posted a how to and stated the instructions were wrong... within a day or 2 they saw the post, immediately apologized, thought they had written it correctly and then admitted fault and sent me out the bracket for the 08 Evo (different from the earlier models). I was happy about that and it showed that they care about their name and their products.

Recently, while tightening my UICP clamps, I noticed that one of the wires was loose from the 3 ports plug... so I looked at it and then realized that was why the car didn't feel very fast earlier lol. I attempted (as I do have some experience with electronics) to push the pin out, resolder and then put it back into the plug. All was successful and I couldn't see why there would be any problem at all after hooking it back up.

I was wrong and unfortunately it was not fixed. I had posted a message on a thread for someone who was asking about the GM 3 ports (which I hear are good as well) and I had mentioned that the wire had come loose and it was no longer working. Yet again no more than a day or 2 went by when they caught it and just said flat out "send us your information and we wil mail you a new one". There was no questions about me taking the pin out and putting it back, there was no questions of what else might have been done for them to try to blame me (as soooooooooooo many companies have done and continue to do everyday). I sent them an email with my information and promised to send back to old unit, even though they didn't even ask for it.

This is what customer service is indeed all about, and if you are a company who stands by your work such as Grimmspeed does, then be proud, but A LOT of you (not naming anyone specific) could take some serious lessons from them ... and one I will single out is MITSUBISHI themselves. This is the reason why I will not likely buy another of your cars in the future.

I sent the email to GS last night, the part is on it's way today... no fiddling around, along with a slip to ship the old one back. This is customer service at it's best. I thought about the GM 3 port... but no more.. I will be a customer of theirs for life as long as they continue to have the parts I need for whatever car I have... even if it's not an Evo.

Thank you Grimmspeed.

Glad we could help you out! All of us over here are just modding addicts like all of you guys and we COMPLETELY understand how much it sucks dealing with companies that don't stand behind their product and make it a major PITA to get problems solved. We will keep doing our best for you guys.

Thank you again for the support!

Justin

This is a great company to do business with. Their turn-around on porting and coating work was really good earlier this year. They run a clean shop and do have a lot of nice cars out in the employee parking.

I ordered one of their cool t-shirts a few weeks back so I could give them a little advertising at some of the Mitsu events.
