Force-Fed Performance Grade A Review
When I bought my 2011 X, I knew I needed to find a dedicated shop as the "go to" guys for anything I need with my car. Choosing Force-Fed Performance as my dedicated shop was not a hasty decision.
When I was doing my shop hunt, I was not only looking for a good tuner and mechanic, but also someone I could count on regarding anything with my Evo. It was a long three hour trip to get to Force-Fed, and I do have more than one shop within a thirty minute drive from where I am. Again, I was not only looking for a shop and tuner... I wanted a shop that could give me the warm and fuzzy feeling. I'm not here to bash anyone's shop, so I'm not going into my experiences with other shops. Yes, there were shops with a bigger garage and fancier equipment, and yes their were shops showing off their experience with the evo. None of it though compared to the total package that Force-Fed offers.
Justin, the owner, is one hell of a dedicated shop owner. When I was first messaging him about my build, I didn't think he was the owner... especially on how quick he responded whenever I had a question (no matter how dumb the question was). In addition he proved to be mechanically knowledgeable about the evos, and wasn't just out to make a sale. I couldn't believe how much Justin is involved with everything going on with the shop, and he is in there getting his hands dirty whenever his team needs him. No matter the business, its always nice to see a place where everyone loves their job and always has a smile on their face.
I purchased all my items through the shop, and was given a good price on the parts and labor. The items purchased and installed:
ETS Quiet V2 Turbo Back Exhaust
ETS Intake system
ETS 4" FMIC
ETS UICP
ETS LICP
Grimspeed 3 port EBCS
Walboro 255lph Fuel Kit
HD Single Disc Clutch Kit with Release Bearing
It was really great on how Justin dealt with the clutch decision. He knew this car was my DD, and it showed. I couldn't tell the difference from the stock clutch to the new one (yes I'm sure they swapped it, as I brought home the stock
).
Justin provided me with rides to and from the shop, and an event, during my two day stay in Fayetville.
Words can't describe the wizardary of Babi... you just have to see it for yourself.
If I had to give them a score, it would be a 99 out of a 100... as everyone as room for inprovement. The only thing I would change would be the use of mechanic fender protectors, although they did put a seat protector on without me asking. This was so minimal to me in comparison to all the pluses that I didn't think twice about it. I've already made this post long enough, no reason to double its size with detailing all of the pluses.
If had to do it again, hands down I would make the same decision... even if it meant I would've had to make a longer drive.
The only downside to my whole trip was when I was stopped at a checkpoint on my way home. The cop didn't understand me driving that far to a shop when there was nothing broken on the car, and I had a fishy large box in my back seat (stock parts).
I really resisted from being a smart *** when he asked me if my car was fast... !*ck yeah it is, I just back from Force-Fed
!!
