MAP was a nightmare
logistics and customer service.
I'm on the side of the OP. It's not to do with being In a perfect world, if you order something from vendor it is up to that vendor to deliver what you ordered. Not matter the complexity.
If you make a mistake as the vendor, good customer service would tell you to offer an exceptional service. In this case overnight shipping.
Logistics is getting product from point A to B to C etc... There are systems and software out there that all companies can use. Hell, UPS has been doing it for decades. United States Military does this excellently. Don't forget to do things, if you do, catch your mistake and inform the customer if you think it will impact them.
These aren't alien practices. This keeps you in business and your customers happy. I won't go to MAP as my first choice just because of this post. Word of mouth is a SOB.
If shipping is too complicated for a vendor then they should outsource it. GM does it, I'm sure other large Corporations do it too.

That sucks that MAP sucks. I had a write up about them and my experience was they sent me wrong item and was a pita to return and get the right item. Their must be people who work for MAP undercover that try to defend them on here. Because I see the same people trying to defend MAP and they make no sense. Their customer service suck. Just check the BBB...enough Said
MAP was a nightmare
When something is drop shipped of course it takes what it takes to get there, not maps fault. However when something is missing from an order they shipped out, I would think they should overnight it and eat the cost regardless. Customer service is worth any cost to keep people happy, buying more, and recommending. That always nets a bigger return then refusing to pay shipping, right?
Reviving an old thread. I had a not so great experience with MAP. Talked to one of them about an O2 dump down pipe for my X and they said they were in stock. So I placed my order through STM since they had some other parts I wanted. It's now been a week and a half, and was just notified it won't ship from MAP until Tuesday. Almost two weeks to ship an in stock item? Seems a little shady. Had I known upfront they needed time to make it, it would've been more acceptable but I feel they said it was in stock to complete the sale. Probably won't order from them again.
