Right, because weight savings is totally non-functional.

Go back to the Camry forums.

Do these fenders allow for wider tires than is possible with the stock fenders, like the Garage HRS?

since the stock fenders are Aluminum i dont think that is really a factor. Most C/F hoods are the same or heavier weight than the stock Aluminum hood........

It depends on the carbon fiber that is used. High quality dry carbon or kevlar woven carbon is lighter than aluminum. I don't know exactly what streetconcepts uses, but I am sure they don't appreciate dumb comments like "WOW RICE LOL LOOKS LIKE A CIVIC!"

are these fenders wider by any chance? and if they are by how much?

Do not type in all CAPS

MrMejia Sep 7, 2005 12:15 PM

Im not saying ricer here but their lip is fiberglass baised. I would think the fenders are the same. not to light when compaired to stock.

I have a VIS C/F hood and it is in no way lighter than the stock hood. the Gialla C/F hood is about 1/16 the weight of the stock hood. thats why i said most... {thumbup}

Ok, well that is fine, they didn't specify what type of CF they were using or not, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt :)

it doesn't look like dry cf.... no, the only reason for cf fenders would be for serious weight reduction which i have no doubt these would not do... and for wider rims, which, from the looks of it, aren't doable either. i'd say this is cf for the sake of cf... which isn't bad, but this just isn't my taste.

if the fitment is like the real varis fenders, then it shud be 10mm wider than stock..

its wider i think about 10-12mm wider.
Carbon fiber hood it does save some weight at least 5-10 pounds depending on what style.
This fenders DOESN'T really save any weight maybe 0.5 pounds but ... when u talking about functiion yes it does give alot of function.
1. I dont have to cut / trim the fenders for my oversize front tires, while I rolled my rear fenders in order to fit that tires.

2. Some aerodynamics advantage

3. Looks nice.
