Remove Xede for P0300 Reflash?

I put in a resonated test pipe last week, and coincidentaly or not I'm now getting a p0300 code along with a nasty misfire while crusing @2500/3000 rpm.

I'm going to be taking my car to the dealer in the next few days for a reflash, do I need to remove the Xede. The service manager is cool so i'm not worried about getting voided, I'm concerned about messiong up the Xede when they reflash it.

I'd say just take the Xede off ... it only take five minutes. Have them do the flash and put the Xede back in ... unless you have mods that require the Xede be in (cams? camgears?)

The reflash for p0300 only works at idle, which is not where the problem is being caused. If you do the reflash, your ecu will undergo great data bank changes. This obviously makes reflashing the ECU much more difficult. I would personaly stay away from the "fix."

I just have an Xede, not a reflash. Are you saying the factory reflash will not affect my 2500/3500rpm misfire and sputtering issue? It only affects idle?

I dropped my car off at the dealer and the tech just called me. He was very cool and said the last car they had in with the problem had an Xede and it turned out to be a short in the unit (which Vishnu fixed when they sent it in). When I pick my car up I'm going to try re-loading the map... and take it from there.

FYI - Uploaded the 0+ map to see if that would solve the problem, and it did...no more sputter or p0300 code.

My car threw that last week, just cruising down a highway, why's the dealer reflash a pile of crap?

Do you mind elaborating on this? I'm super confused why Dustin and now Dyno4mance are not recommending a Mistu reflash.
