Xflash boost level question for shiv

Hello-

I see in ez76's latest power chart, utilizing a 10.5 turbine housing, header, o2 housing in addition to a stg 1+ kit, is acieving ~25 psi between 3,500-4,800 revs.

All components being similar to his, will a xflash tune be able to generate the boost levels seen by ez76 who uses the xede?

I know ez76 was using ~100 octane, I would get tuned for 91 octane.

Will 91 octane handle tha much boost @ those revs? If not, could you speculate how much less would a typical knock sensor tolerate then?

Thanks, I currently have a stg 1+ type kit on my car w/xflash.

No dice. 91 will tolerate, what, something like 22psi, maybe 23 (read: 21 if you want to be safe). Gotta run race gas to get the higher boost. I run 93, and I'm tuned to ~22psi on the stock turbo.

So what gains can be expected by going to the 10.5 turbine housing & where? Will the gains only be seen by a slighlty more agressive timing due to the reduction in backpressure & not so much incresed boost levels?

I am trying to weigh out the most effective means for gaining for mid range grunt, 3k-4k5 all on 91 octane. So this is the reason for the question.

Maybe should have justed asked, with a stg 1+ set-up, what is the most effective / cost effective means for gaining power between 3k-4k5?

Thanks again.

Shiv,

Do you have any feedback on the Vishnu authorized installation centers in Redmond Wa. or in Portland OR. I am wanting to purchase in the near future some of your stage upgrades or flash's and want a good reputable company to go withas far as mods and tuning. I live in washington state and wonder who is the closest around me to go to. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Maybe if there is enough people you can come tune our cars yourself.

Sorry to hijack the thread, just a quick question, looked like it was nearing end.

thanks

Would you happen to have a 9.8 vs. 10.5 turbine housing dyno graph compare running pump gas on a stg 1 or stg 1+ would be awesome.

The guys at Matrix Engineering in Portland are great guys. They installed my cams and cam gears in my EVO. I highly recommend them. Vishnu had a dyno/tuning day at Matrix earlier this year. Hopefully, Vishnu will come back next spring and tune some more EVO's(hint, hint). I need a stage 3

Thanks 008,

what mods are you running in your car now and what type of HP is it producing. I am anxious to start modding my EVO and am not sure where to start. I was hoping to find a good tuning place that will point me in the right direction, i will get ahold of Matrix and see what they have to say. Would you recommend going with the stage upgrades or piecing together a good systems from different products??
