I need some help. I had an xede installed and tuned by Shiv in my old EVO. Now I have a second one in a new EVO, but I can't figure out how to get the stage 0 (or any other map) loaded. The instructions on the website all relate to xupdate and xmap doesn't look at all like it. I have the unit installed, but it has a stage 4 map on it. I want to delete that, and download the stage 0 from the website until I get the Vishnu signature series turboback, and then I'll want to load the appropriate map for those mods. But, while I was able to load the xmap2 on my laptop and establish a good connection to my xede, I can't see how to delete or overwrite the old map and get the new map loaded. The xmap2 doesn't seem to be very clear on this. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? Thanks.

 

Ok, here we go....

Go to the website and download the map you now want to use. When that map downloads, pull it out of the Zip folder.

At this point, open the Xmap software, with your computer connected to the xede, and open the file that you have just downloaded. Once you have done this, it will ask you if you would like to upload the map to the xede. Say yes. Then it will ask you if you would like to burn the current map to the e-prom. Say yes. Keep the file name that is on the website, and check to see that it is the map name shown at the top of the xmap window.

 

i keep getting access violations when I try to load maps. I have tried deleting the old stage 4, and I think I've accomplished that, but I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE WHAT'S ON THERE NOW. It seems to be a blank map, with all 0s in the graph, and the car starts and idles fine, but it cuts out completely when I get anywhere near boost, at around 3000 rpms.

 

Also, the xede light glows a steady green when I have the car on. Are maps supposed to save as word files? Maybe my problem is I don't know whether I have zip file software on my laptop. When I tried to do what you suggested above, and open the file I saved, it appeared that I could not open because I got a message saying it wasn't clear what software created the program, so the program could not be opened. right now, may car is undriveable. I am wondering if it is easier to take the xede out ans send it to Vishnu to have a stage 1 map loaded, with a stage 0 backup. Is that possible?

 

Never mind. I am now happy. I tried again, did a few things differently, and it worked like aq charm. Just got back from a test run and everything worked great! Now, time to add a Vishnu signature turboback and install the Walbro 255 waiting on my workbench.
