vishnu here i come.. but have q's

current mods on my evo right now are hks rs intake, helix hi flo cat/downpipe, and hks hiper exhaust, hks 264/264 cams, 660 injectors, walbro fuel pump, and hks cam gears.
but my car is still untuned!
ive been recommended to check out vishnu's xede and it all sounds pretty sweet. i have a couple things that i dont understand though. i definitely wouldl like to get the xede with the stage 1 with hks cams. but i have 264/264 not 264/272, and also running the hks rs intake. would this still work?
and how would i change between different maps without a laptop?
also would i still need to purchase a boost controller?

You would actually have a stage 1+, but it would require a custom tune because of your injectors and intake. The intake might actually make you lose power. Maps can be changed via a toggle switch.

You have NOOOO problems.
1. Get the car dyno tuned at Vishnu on both 91 and 100+ unleaded race fuel. That will probably cost you between 200 and 300 dollars (a great bargain, seriously).
2. You will have two wires that come out of the xede: a red and a black. When they are apart, you are on your 91 pump gas maps. When they are together, you are on your race gas maps. No laptop is needed.

Now quit talking and go for it. Others will now probably add that you don't need your injectors or that you should go back to your stock airbox. Don't let that confuse you. You are ok. You will need to upgrade your fuel pump for safety, and get a better BOV in order to better hold every last bit of boost.

Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I second that. Blah, blah, blah.

Moral of the story...Have you seen the new KIA Sedona Commercial?

so i will need the Xede, XedeFlash, plus tuning labor. roughly about $1300 would you say? if i can spend $1300 or less and call it a day and hit 12's like nothing then i'm sold. forget the aem ems.
also would i still need a separate boost controller???

No boost controller is needed, that is an XEDE function (don't forget the pill, ask David about that). Yea, forget the AEM. Mitsu has brilliant tuning in the stock ECU, damn near perfect IMO. Just use the XEDE to compensate a bit. 12's ain't no problem. I can't shift for crap (miss at least one gear a run) and just ran mid 12's this last weekend.

DUDE! You're in the Bay area and you're not at their shop yet? What the hell are you waiting on? Are you stuck at Harlen Ness's shop?

Welcome to the family!!

I guess Ted B. and I got ya convinced. You won't regret going w/ the Xede.
If you want to meet "Team Vishnu", come out to Sac. to the drags tomorrow(Fri.) We can give you a little demonstration how well tuned cars run.
