I live here in Reno and the elevation is about 4600 ft. This spring I'm going down to the bay area to have my stage 1+ kit installed. I plan on getting a custom tune by Shiv but am concerned that once I get back home the elevation will mess up my tune (timing,knock, A/F, etc.). Am I going to have to tune it myself or will the elevation differences present minimal issues? thanks

 

You could probably ask Shiv to throw on one of his "Colorado" tunes. I think originally they had some boost issues with the high altitude tunes, but that has been resolved. I originally had a 91 octane custom tune by Shiv in Colorado. When I drove back to Chicago, the AFR leaned out slightly, but that was about it. So at the very least, going from low to high altitude, I'd expect your AFR to be slightly richer (maybe .3 or so).
