just finished installing my Xede and need a map. I have the following

HKS Cams 272/272

HKS Gears set at -2/-2

Denso 720 injectors

HKS racing Suction intake kit

Helix full 3 inch SS Catback Exhaust

Helix 3 inch downpipe

Walboro 255 Fuel Pump

Greddy type S Blow Off Valve

I was Xflashed for some of this stuff and i think at one time my xede was preloaded with a map. the light was green when i first checked the install of the xede and then did the cam and fuel injector install i was getting a rough idle with my car backfiring in occasion. however when i plugged in my computer to the serial cable and downloaded the map to view the next time the car was turned on it fails to turn on period it just stalls itslef out or doesnt even turn on at all....now an hour ago it was turning on and idling rough with slight backfire and now it wont turn on at all the xede also has a flashing red light now so i am confused a little scared and dont know what to do any help would GREATLY be appreciated...i also noticed they are closed for the week due to thanksgiving so i really hope the community can point me in the right direction here

 

We're closed but still checking email and forum stuff so don't worry. Was your ECU flashed for your upgraded injectors?

yes you flashed for the injectors the xflash reciept says mods stage 1+ (720 injectors, intake, hks ignition)

 

i was thinking of downloading and installing into the xede the stage 1+ 93 octane hks camshafts even though i have 272/272 instead of 264/272


but what does the blinking red light mean?

The LED on the XEDE should blink red when the power is on but the engine isn't running. With the engine running, it should be solid green.

 

yes i have the hks dli2 twin ingnition but i dont think that really matters. i thinki somehow deleted whatever was on the xede and now there is nothing there hence the car wont turn on basically...

 

First things first... take out the XEDE and make sure the car funtions normally. With the ECU flashed for the bigger injectors, it should drive reasonably well. Cand you confirm this before moving one to the XEDE.

Also, when in the upgrade process did you install the twin power? Last time i checked with HKS a few months back, it wasn't yet available for the EVO 8.

do i have to undo the boost line and that i took from factory ecu and the boost pelet back in or do i just unplug the exede from the ecu and leave the green wire loop as it is?

 

Go head and undo the boost wire and put it back in the factory ECU. You can leave the boost pill out since it's a PITA to get in and out

ok undid the xede and with me puting my foot on the gas a little bit to start it up it cranked and had a rough idle let go of the gas and it stayed on without shutting itself off

 

Now drive it and make sure it behaves okay under boost. It may run a bit rich but that's okay for now
