Xede error
That is a port config error. Go into your settings and set back to default.
My Computer (properties), hardware, device manager, open the com port, device settings, restore default.
This should get you straight. If not you have issues with the buss that you are using and might need to uninstall the port and let plug and play re-detect it.

I just ordered an Xede....it appears that my laptop doesn't have a regular serial port on it..just USB adaptors. Does everyone have this problem when they use a USB to Serial port adaptor?

I have the Iconcepts one made by Sakar. I got it from compusa and it was the cheapest of the USB adapters. Many have had luck with this one. The Belkin basically never works.

I had the same problem initially with the serial to usb connector. I would have it plugged in the COM4 port and when I would manually change the port in the Xede to COM4, it would revert back to COM1. So went into device manager and changed COM4 to COM1 and it worked.
