Xede reliability

My Xede keeps crapping out on me and it is getting more frequent. I will start the car and the maps won't load. I have to stop, turn the car off , turn the ignition on, wait a few seconds and then start the car again. Talk about a pain in the ***. I sent an e-mail to Vishnu, but I have not received an answer yet. What's up with that.......

did you get the resistor modified inside the Xede yet?
If not they have a fix for the problem you describe
Try them on the phone

Have you tried using another XEDE? Maybe from a friend if someone nearby has one. The reason I ask is that your car had some installation issues with respect to the CAS, IIRC. And the CAS sensor is critical to XEDE functionality. Without a stable CAS input, the XEDE will go off-line. I've seen this once before with someone on the east coast. Trying different XEDEs didn't solve the problem.

Check the ground wire crimp on connector. On mine the crimp was loose, would turn off and do all crazy stuff. A good squeeze with a crimp tool fixed it. I also sanded the Mitsu metal where I screwed the ground wire and it won't do that anymore.
