Cam Gear Setting..

what is the best Cam Gear setting for 264/264 on a Vishnu Stage 1+ Car, how much HP/toqure will I get out of it with a set of Cams? on my Stage 1 I got 255whp with 91Oct, so what would I expect with a set of 264/264? oh and will it idle like stock?

Cam gears should set at -2,-2, which is recommened by Vishnu. With Camshafts and Gears you could pick up like 30 to 40 whp

This subject has been discussed pretty well, a search will find much more information. In summary though, -2 -2 or -3 -3 will give you more midrange and a slightly lopey idle with one degree difference helping bring power in earlier or later in the powerband, whatever your flavor. -4 -1 will sacrifice midrange and push the powerband back several hundred rpm but will give you higher peak horsepower with near stock idle due to the greater lobe separation. I guess you could call it driveable vs drag racing, respectively. I would choose the former for the better power in the midrange and the lumpy idle. Call me crazy but I just like the sound of a cammy exhaust burbling at idle.

Do a search and you'll find graphs showing the differences, I believe a member on here named TedB posted the results after dynoing on Andrews dyno. On your 91 pisstane I'd expect you'd make max power gains of close to 15hp and maybe a little bit more tq. Your idle will not be the same as stock, but the stock idle already sucks, so who cares?
