Did you do a base run w/o the custom tune? And if so, how much was gained?

98 octane

Here we go, Shiv. On this chart I see that with 98 octane the curve looks right. With 91, it falls off like the MR on your other thread at about 5600. With the 98 octane, it keeps cranking and must feel really nice......Is there anything that can be done to simulate this curve on 93 even if there is a slight loss down low or something? Would going catless help in a similar fashion? I called, left a message but got no response? Are you guys avoiding me? Are you mad?.......Helloooooo........

Hour changes

I called last night. I've heard about time zones before. I have sent e-mails for over 2 weeks asking for advise and I guess they just don't want to talk to me anymore as I am not satisfied with the performance of my car and they must not know of a solution. Oh well......

You really think that is the reason? We've been open for precisely 2 days right now with half of our staff setting up the new sales office. I'm sorry if we can't get back to you in a timely fashion. I hope the changes to our sales/support system will help the situation for you and everyone one of our other customers.

Power curve

Didn't know you guys were changing things. Just figured you were frustrated with me. Anyway, maybe you can help me come to a conclusion. The dyno runs you show top out around 5600 (except for the 98 octane one which looks more like what I would like). My car seems to top out around 6000. Is this always going to be this way because it is a AWD car or is it limited by the turbo or is it due to the cat? As I have been going through the mods, each time David told me that the car would be super strong etc.... I am still not where I want to be. the bottom end and mid range are good but I want the car to keep pulling to at least 6500 if not 7000 without loosing too much below. I can do with a more linear spool and give up some mid range. Is the solution a turbo, going catless or will these traits never diseappear? This would be nice to know. I would also like to know if you have a good 1++ map I could get or purchase. Thank you for your time and I hope you can answer soon.

Sigfrid,

I assume that you haven't had you car dynoed with your new mods yet, correct? If that is the case, you'll probably want to make the drive over to Dyno4mance in GA. Not only should you be able to score a map that is close to your level of mods, but in putting it onto a dyno that has had numerous Evos dynoed on it, you'll also be able to make sure that you are getting the correct amount of power for your level of modification. Lastly, since you already have the hotside, there isn't a whole lot more you'll be able to do beyond fine tuning your AFR and timing, other than running a racegas map. Look at some of Smogrunner's dyno charts on this forum to see the difference between running pump gas and racegas on a 10.5 turbo ... throw in a test pipe, proper tuning, and I'd wager that your Evo will be very close to where you want it to be. Anything beyond that, and you'll have to up the turbo...

Sigfrid,
Take your car to a road-course track one of these days; blow away corvettes, M3s, some porsches, STIs, etc.... and basically kick some ***. Sometimes, this exercise can give us a different perspective on the HP our cars have....plus its fun

Smile like what's his name

That's funny guys. Thanks, I didn't know who he was (still don't but I now know what he looks like). My previous car was pretty fast. Low 12's but never confirmed. With twin turbos and a rotary, the top end was just addictive. Maybe Shiv remembers his SLOWER project car and can attest to a very modified 3rd gen rx7 power delivery. I know my car is running as it should and don't get me wrong, IT IS FAST. I am scheduled to go to Baytown (our local drag track) on the 23rd. This will be my first ever drag experience (I like track events). I will let you know what I do in the 1/4 mile. I just would have liked a little tunning safety before I go and blow my daily driver up. Oh well, I will lower the boost this week-end and compare my maps to the ones Shiv posted for safety. GA is far, but my plan IS to get there this year.....
