your car with those mods and a test piep will make over 400 crank on race gas (about 410).. my car makes 315-320 on vishnu dyno at atp it made almost 350, which equates to over 400 hp to the crank. on 91 i made 280. thats about 365 crank. so teh v390 is basically quoting hp figures between race and 91 pump gas. the test pipe is also very helpfull not only in the 10 hp it frees up, but also in the fact that you can use 110+ freely. another example of this is smogrunner.. he made 330 on the vishnu dyno.. but on a dyno jet he made 365 whp.

the blue line is is dyno.

so the moral of the story is the vishnu dyno reads much lower than other dynos.

I know that. It made about 280whp on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno I presume from the printout. Dyno Dynamics do read low, but, I highly doubt that on any dyno that 280whp = 390bhp. Thats what a 40% loss through the drivetrain?

I dont buy it

Stock 227bhp wrx puts down 160-165whp. Stock 271bhp 02-03 Evo puts down 195-200whp. Stock 300bhpSTi puts down 210-220whp.

Buy it...

Driveline loss is far greater than most people want to believe. For instance, running the AC during a run will cost 25whp. Heck, simply rotating drive accessories slower through an underdrive pulley will often free up 10whp. No imagine how much power is needed to spin all that stuff, plus 4 heavy tires, wheels, rotors, driveshafts, gears, etc,. Answer: A LOT

just my 2c,
shiv

330 whp on Shiv's rollers is an 11 sec 115mph car. Low 300s is a low 12 car that traps 110-112 mph. 270-280 whp on his heartbreaking dyno is a mid 12 sec car at 108-110 mph. Do these number seem more tangible to you. Because how fast your car goes in the real world is the real measure of HP. So far for me 390 on his DD only equals 12.4 at 117 mph but that has more to do with the nut/tard behind the wheel.
