Exedy twin plate

Just installed it last week with a new throw out bearing. The clutch makes a fairly loud clapping/thunking noise with the clutch engaged, similar to the sound of a diesel engine. Is this normal ?

Very Annoying sound but a trade off when you get that kind of clutch.

Does this mean your car always sounds like a diesel or does it just make weird noises when engaging the clutch?

it is only a little loud when you push the clutch in, other than that it is fine.

Are any of you noticing an increase in the sound level of the tranny decel noise? I've always had a little decel noise, but nothing out of the ordinary. I put the Twin in this weekend and now my barely audible decel noise is very pronounced. I can hear the extra noises that the clutch itself is making when dis-engaging, but the decel racket has me a bit worried.

I've the same noise, it sound like the clutch disks are rattling on decel. if I step on the clutch pedal (all the way down), the noise goes away. Is this normal??? BTW I've the Cusco twin disk clutch.

An Evo with an Exedy appears to be just the next best thing to a Ducati with open clutch cover, just on 4 wheels

I hope to get mine to Andrews shop sometime soon too to get an ACT put in. I just have trouble trying to figure out when to schedule this.

I can hear the disk rattling sound, and that doesn't bother me. The fact that the "standard Evo decel noise" is now louder is what's worrying me. And yes, a Ducati with a dry clutch is music to the ears.
