Questions: Vishnu kit and tuning
Questions: Vishnu kit and tuning
I have a bone stock 2005 Evolution RS.
What exactly will I need to make the most power in a stage 1 configuration?
I'm guessing this is the list:
XEDE
$995
Stage 1 390HP Kit
Passive Boost Solenoid Emulator
Signature Series 3” Cat-Back Exhaust
Signature Series 3-inch Down-Pipe with modular High-Flow Catalyst
Pre-Set Adjustable Camshaft Gears HKS Upgraded Camshafts
Upgraded Fuel Pump
$2295 with Standard Exhaust
Cost of Tuning at Dynoformance
100$ for Dyno time
$225 for Vishnu Tuning
I have a few questions too.

I have a few questions too.
- Can someone confirm the difference between the standard exhaust and the signature exhaust?
- Is the XFLASH unavailable for the 2005 RS, and does it tell us that anywhere on their web site?
- Does the XEDE offer signifigant improvements in power output over an xflash? (or just more tuning and customization options?)
- Does the standard exhaust really come with a silencer, and how does the sound output of a silencer equiped standard exhaust compare to the sound out put of a stock exhaust system? Is it still louder?
- Are the prices I have listed above correct for the items listed?
xflash is not available for the 05 yet, but they told me it should be a matter of weeks to a month before they get one. Xede advantage over xflash is tuning capabilities and being able to store different maps for race gas that s all. I don t know if dynomance can custom tune a xflash, but vishnu can for sure.
Ok. Just to clear some things up. You do not HAVE to get the vishnu exhaust. There are many exhausts out there that you can piece together or plenty of other full systems. I believe the buschur has been seen to make the most power, but look the least appealing. Just make sure you get a 3" system with a test pipe(cat delete) or a high flow cat. you will make more power with the test pipe.
the difference in the xede and xflash is purely functional. you will get basically the same power out of each of them at first, but when you save on the xede is the long run. you don't have to keep sending your ECU back to vishnu to have it flashed when you get new mods that require it. also, it is soon to have full datalogging capabilities.
Personally, i would suggest getting a cheaper exhaust and using the money you save toward cams. You can get a full helix or buschur kit for around 800 i think, that will save you money so you can buy cams.
I would get full exhaust, cam gears, 255lph fuel pump, cams, and xede. you won't need a boost controller with the xede either, it does that for you, you will need one if you go with flash only, but i don't believe that is available yet for the 05.
