Changing Boost Line for Xede Install

I know you are supposed to squeeze the little brass restrictor pill out of the boost line during the Xede install, but now that my fingers are raw and sore( and the damn pill is still not out ), I was wondering if replacing the boost line with some vacuum tubing of approximately the same diameter( generic vacuum line from the auto parts store ) would lead to over boosting or some other boost solenoid related malfunction? My concern is that the replacement vacuum tubing looks close to the same size but probably isn't exactly the same size.

Makes you wonder how they got it inside there in the first place.

Tell me about it. I shudder to think of how I would shove it back in there if I ever had to go back to stock... Wat a pain in a$$. And I thought that hooking up the boost wire was going to be the most difficult part...

Actually getting it back in is pretty easy..I had to do this once before I took it in for a service.

Well, until I get it out I really don't have to worry about getting it in! But nice to know it's pretty easy.
I'm still wondering if I can run a new boost line made from generic vacuum tube without any nasty boost surprises. Anybody?

Yes. You can use generic vacuum line of similiar diameter

Your fingertips will thank you for it. Unless, of course, you pry out that restrictor with you teeth like me!

i took some silicon spray. sprayed it in a cap. Took a toothpick and got a drop on the end, then put it down in the hose and worked it down to the pill. Took about 30 seconds to get it out after that.
What silicon the pill doesnt push out as it comes out, should absorb into the rubber.
