Tales From the Dyno: SCCA T2 Xflash
Between EVOs and STis, we've been doing quite a few SCCA T2 racecars lately. Two days ago, we had a fully gutted and stripped brand new MR show up for a custom tuned XFlash. It was running on a ~96 octane pump/race gas mixture (although it will race exclusively on 104 ERC unleaded gas). As per T2 rules, the all emissions equipment must remain on the car. This means that the ONLY bolt-on modification to the car is a cat-back exhausts. Also, no piggy-backs allowed so the only option was an XFlash.
Interesting results:
Displayed:
His stock MR, Reflash MR (stock boost), Reflashed MR (no additional tuning but with boost control fitting installed)
The higher boost dyno runs were conducted just for fun, of course
Top end would have cleared up a bit if true 100+ octane was used.
Cheers,
shiv
