I was watching this show on Discovery (God I love that channel!) and apperently vishnu is the god of water in Bali and considering that they are a very religious people and center their whole lives around water thats pretty cool.

I just always wonder what words like that mean and as I was watching that I was like no f'ing way! Just thought a bunch of gearheads like me would find that interesting

 

yep - i've always thought that the guys from vishnu should have buddha as their avatar, since buddha was one of vishnu's avatars.


i personally think the pic below is pretty cool - but that's just me.

I am sure that it has many different meanings in many different cultures, the gods Brahman and shiva were also mentioned in the special on bali. Shiva was the god of wind and brahman was supposed to watch over you in the after-life. I was watching a funeral cerimony where a the body was being cremated. It was truely amazing, I recommend HDTV to anyone the picture is truely lucid.
