well from the looks of it he has a test pipe so its illegal closed or open but i would assume if u hade it right b4 a cat some how closed it would b legal and open illegal

just looked at the pics again and noticed no cat..

so if u did put it either in front of the cat could this be legal?

in front of the cat no when its open cause it would be Running NO CAT behind i guess it would b but i dont think u would really get the gains to make it worth doing....

Cutouts are $26 from Summit. Just have a local muffler shop cut up your test pipe and weld in the cutout...not worth $90.

Ur local Shady muffler shop JP. Where must I go JP. Still not enough to hang wit u with ur 200 shot but I will only be a 1/2 bus length behind u.

lets weld a cutout on your manifold so you can shoot crazy flames and blind jp. then we will add smogrunners crazy homemade alky injection kit to the mix. and then you can beat jp for good.

I am not advocating such Fast and Furious illigal activities Beavis but anything to beat JP as Drew will never let me hear the end of that beating if it ever comes to pass. Yeah Smoggy's Miller light Alky kit is sick. Problem is one gallon of Alky only last 10 minutes with Smoggy around so it is still cheaper to run race gas.

IE- speedway muffler in rancho cucamonga. btw-word is jp is taking the SS to palmdale tomorrow night. The beating will come in due time, as long as jp has the slicks and can keep it straight.....we already know the story with the street tires. I think you on hoosiers would be fair, but not for your weakening tranny.

You're gonna need dyno proof of that claimed gain; Until then, I call BS. If your TBE is catted and you had a retune for that dump tube, I'd believe 10whp. I certainly don't believe 20whp on a catless system. Good luck finding a shop owner who will let you run it on their dyno like that, though, as it will totally crap soot all over their dyno.

Maybe I'm getting old, but they probably couldn't pay me enough to run a dump tube. Loud? Check. Stinks? Check. Cooks and warms stuff under the car? Check. Even if it did magically make 20whp just opening that cap (which it doesn't), I'd still be out for the above reasons.

Have you run the car on the same day with the dump tube capped? In our area and in sub 80 degree weather, I think a 310-320whp Dyno Dynamics Evo will run 11s and trap ~117mph on a good run without too much drama.

I made 30+whp and 20+tq to the wheels with the cutout open compared to closed in mine... dyno is somewhere in the forums.. just search my name and youll see the dynographs somewhere

Yeah my death to JP is not a matter of IF but WHEN. Remember that it is easier said than done and I wish JP the best in his quest for 10s. My goal is 11.4 s and that will have to do until I get financial reinforcements.

Yeah i agree that this is a worthwhile mod for the hardcore Draggers that want to run a lil faster.

Ok, guy. I ran on andrews dyno A BUNCH. made 300hp on race fuel.(FWIW 310 won't trap anywhere close to 117, maybe 112). then i put a cutout on the car(among a little more boost and my traps skyrocketed.)

and FWIW ive already found a lucky dyno man to test my power theory, and it is none other than my man andrew. Maybe you can be there so you can join the bandwagon.

And btw, if you can't handle a LOUD STINKY car at the track, you should sell the evo.

yep, my buddy in his DSM runs catless and made 25whp more with it open vs closed. he dynoed at battleground.
