Boost/Unknown Table Tuning Questions

First let me start off by saying I have a bone stock 03 evo equipped with the xede. I have been tuning the boost table to try to get around 20-21psi well this is what is happening. This is the 91oct basemap that Vishnu offers just with tweaked boost table. Here is table one.

With this table I am getting a strong hold of 20psi then tapers to 18psi when nearing redline.

Table two

With this table you notice I have 100 on 4000rpm and up with this I thought I would be able to achieve my 21psi, but I found out I am only holding between 19-20psi (it bounces back and forth) then it tapers to 17-18 when nearing redline.

The question I have is why am I not getting more boost when making more cells 100? It almost seems as table two is weaker then table one, but I could be wrong. My butt dyno tells me they are both quick. Maybe one of the Vishnu quys can step in and tell me whats up with this and maybe help me achieve 20-21psi. Should I be changing all the cells at once or just a select range?

You may want to check your blow off valve to make sure it is staying closed during the boost spike. Since you are still holding 18psi at redline, your BOV maybe leaking above 20psi.

If the BOV seems to be functioning correctly, then call Vishnu and get the pressure bleeder they offer. Some cars just boost more then others.

How would I check my bov? It is a MR DV by the way. Should I try switching back to stock?

Try switching it back to stock and see what happens. If the boost doesn't change then get the bleeder from Vishnu.

I'm running the same setup with mr bov plus a turboback. Using the same map as you. I actually had to turn the boost tables down cuz I was hitting boost cut under heavier loads.. what gear are you doing your pulls in? Im holding 1.4-1.5 kg/cm^2 all the way to redline... could be because of the exhaust though

Yes I removed the pill. The XEDE is installed correctly. I still have my stock exhaust so you may be running a different map then me. Remember I have a bone stock 03 evo equipped with a XEDE.

So you are saying my car is running more boost then most? So the bleeder would just bleed off some of the boost?

The bleeder gives you more boost.

Call Vishnu. I bet they can make you a deal on one. I got one last year at a Vishu dyno day, but I don't know what they charge for them.

There is nothing wrong with your car , the reason why you don't get more boost is because you are still running the stock restrictive exhaust. Also the MR DV should work fine. Don't use the pill unless you're custom tuned.

Holy crap, I totally missed that he still has the stock exhaust. Jorge is right. Once you get a good exhaust system your boost will increase. Sorry about the confusion.

I repeated twice I was stock.
