my stage 1+

OK. Last March of this year I dropped off my car so it can be upgraded to V390 stage 1+ with Xede. It's been running fine It logged 5000 miles with no issues.
So yesterday I started checking the cam gears and surprise suprise, Vishnu used an AEM TruTime 3 bolt cam gear . What's up with this? I thought all packages were 5 bolt.
Can anyone give me a good explanation why a 3 bolt was used instead of 5 bolt?I know HKS has 3 bolts and AEM is a well established brand. I was mislead on the selling of the package? I really appreciate if you can answer this issue. Thanks.

Cam gears

That's it. I think you should sell your car right away.

They ran out of the custom units they get and had to install another set of gears to get your car done. It most likely cost them more money to do so but they did that to satisfy you, the customer.

Sell it? LOL. This is a customer service issue. It's not broken yet and I don't think it will. The horsepower level and redline level (I always shift @7000 rpm) is not enough to break it. Bottom line, I was mislead.

Hmm there have only been 3 or four cars that had to have cam gear substitutions that I know of and Shiv has been good about calling customers before any work is done to give them the option. If for some reason you were not told I dont know the circumstances of it but no problem on getting a Vishnu set if you didnt make the call or prefer different.

There you go, that's pretty great customer service. Did you call Vishnu before posting this? If not, it may not have been the proper order of investigation... my .02......

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that the AEM gears doesn't have any of the anodize issue like the ones I saw in this forum (Vishnu cam gears). I've heard that the 3 bolt HKS cam gears slips but only on Supras that are around 500HP. Any feed backs on 3 bolt AEM cam gears. They showed this cam gear a long time ago on a DOHC turbo civic making 253 wHP (sportscompactcarweb.com/insidetechnology/0208scc_insidetechnology01a/).

I called, made an appointment on that day, and the only question they have asked is
What kind of cams do you want?

That's it. I thought they always use 5 bolt cam gears.
