Vishnu Signature Downpipe fitment issue

I have an 03 Evo8, so no ACD. Installed the signature series downpipe and hi-flow cat this weekend. I found that the second lower brace (the one closer to the cat) will not clear the DP, even when used with the spacers. There is a bracket near the flex coupler that I think is to be bolted to the tansfer case? I think that is what's causing the problem. After it is bolted, it pused the pipe downwards. If I don't bolt it, it hit hit and rattles.

Also, I thought that the hi-flow cat may work with other aftermarket exhausts. But apparently, the angle of the flange on the cat isn't like the stock cat flange angle. So when I bolted it to an JDM exhaust, the hi flow cat's heat shield is sitting at an 45 degree angle to the gound. (not parallel to the gorund like it's suppose to be) Note that I had no issues with the JDM exhaust before with the stock cat, or a RNR test pipe.

I can understand that the cat with only work with a Vishnu exhaust. That part I can get a muffler shop to fix.

But what about the DP? I know a lot of you guys are using this DP. Did I do something wrong while installing this?

Thanks.

Thanks for the pic Ludikraut. Mine sits a lot lower than that and I don't know why....

Anyone else has more pics of the DP near the flex joint?

By the way, did yours come with a little bracket near the flex joint? I heard from another member that if I cut off that bracket so that the DP is not bolted antyhing in the middle, it will sit higher.

Not sure about the bracket. If my car is up on a lift when I go to check out my current build status at AMS tomorrow, I'll see if there is one.

I would not recommend using the attachment point to the transfer case. Mine sheared off the pipe from torque. It was welded back on, and tore off again and wore a hole in the downpipe (replaced under warranty). I would recommend grinding it off (check with Vishnu, I am sure that they are aware of the issue).
