Car and Driver Superfour Challenge
Shiv and Co. - What's the deal, you guys representing again??? Any information on the car and the competition before the actual event and everyone is sworn to secrecy before the issue comes out?
Buschur has put a lot of money into his sled, including forged shortblock and porting, though on a clipped stock turbo. I'm wondering what other Evo's are participating and whether they're going for all out no limit builds or bang for your buck.
Oh, and it wouldn't hurt if you could leak another picture of the stat board like you did last year!

I'd like to know what happened as well. I've been following Vishnu's Car and Driver Challenges since 2003 (super four and super car). I saw some rumors on another thread. Didn't know what to believe. I hope someone chimes in and set it straight.

Hi guys,
Our plans for the last several months have been to enter our WRX Wagon which we've been developing for a while with the help of a few other parties. Unfortunately, 10 days ago, we ran into an 40psi overboost condition on the dyno (stuck wastegate) which took out a ring land on cyl #3. There was no way the engine could get repaired in time while still being attend the 3-day track testing event we had scheduled for it in Colorado. So we had to pull out of this particular event.
FWIW, we were running a Spec C short block with Axis Stg 4 heads and GT30R turbo. The car also has a full 2004 body update, STi 6 speed, Kazz front and rear clutch diffs, JRZ coilovers, Adj. suspension links, massive fender flares, lotsa aero work, 18x9.5" wheels with 265mm wide rubber. It was a bummer that we couldn't run it because it was making a lot of power before our luck turn a turn for the worse.
Needless to say, the wastegate failure is what got me started on SMART boost development... sigh

you mean the spec C shortblock couldnt withstand 40psi from a GT30R turbo???
Thats weaksauce
Too bad that happend, that would have been worth the price of admission to see. Better luck next time.
