AMS Turbo Kit and Stock Air Box

I am about to throw on my AMS 3071 kit, but I wondering how I can still run the stock air box. I am wondering what other Vishnu customers with AMS kits are running for a filtration system?

For those running an open air element is it easier to vent to atmoshere or is there an easy way to recirculate back to intake?

Please post pics if you have them to give me a better idea of what I need to do.

Unless you are running a MAP or blowthrough MAF, you should not VTA. If you ordered your kit from AMS, you should have told them that you need an intake pipe to accomodate MAF and recirc BOV. I'll try to snap a few pics this afternoon to show you how they installed my kit...

Tom is going a different route, he will be utilizing an open air filter and not the stock air box because of the large amount of power he will be making.

we cannot make an intake pipe to recirculate the BOV and join to the stock Airbox. In Ludikrauts case we had the car here are and had to charge almost three times as much because of the work that went into it. the bend is really hard to squeeze in there. the bottom line is that the clearances are too tight from car to car to make it a production piece. yes we can make one but without the car here the best we can offer you is a 3" intake with Recircualtion Provisions with an open element Air Filter. The stock Air box is simply to hard to work with.

No kidding its difficult. I had one of my fabricators make me a 4" intake w/ BOV port which had to clear the stock fan and connect to the stock air box. It took him about 3 hours to make. The only bad thing about it, is the location of the BOV requires me to take off the upper I/C pipe in order to swap springs.

Ok, here's some pics. Kinda hard to get a good shot, since it's all pretty much covered up...

The car should be tuned on Wednesday (knock on wood, keeping fingers crossed, etc.).

I cant just copy it. with the flexibility of pieces under that hood it can still rub. Rubbing plus lightweight alluminum is a no no. sorry guys, without the car here we cant do it.
