100 octane + methanol ?
In theory, there is an advantage to running both, but this has not been tested just yet. Methanol has a cooling effect which vastly improves the VE of the motor. For instance, the turbo magazine car, which is a simple stage 1+ with methanol and 91 oct. made a repeatable 362whp on our dyno, which is the highest output we have ever seen out of a stock turbo. The reason this car made the said power is because running the stock turbo at high boost levels creates a ton of heat. Heat that not even race gas can take care of, but with methanol thrown into the mix, that high temperature intake charge was cooled significantly. For that reason we saw more power with 91 and meth, than we would of with pure race gas.
However, on a large turbo, the gains would most likely not be as great, since the intake charge is generally cooler.
