Is XEDE that much better for EVOs than Subies?

Is it just me, or is the XEDE better suited for the EVO than WRX/STI?

Are the factory ECUs that different in the way they change the values, maps, settings, etc based on conditions? Everyone says the subarus ECU constantly changes and that making offesets is "bad" but doesnt the EVO ecu do pretty much the same thing with respect to adjusting to conditions, knock count, gas, variable timing & fuel maps, etc???

IMO, JP98SS's car (now stage 1++), which I have been in a lot, drives really smooth all the time...part throttle, WOT, etc but my car seems to vary a lot more during the same conditions.

well, once you get a custom tune....you shouldn't have your ECU changing TOO much unless your tune is too aggressive and has the car pulling timing.

can't really say about the WRX though
