I found similar results but that said I'm not in a region of the country when Shiv shows his face very often. So in my mind SMART is my virtual Shiv, which I believe is the concept for the system.

On the other hand if I had a hand tuned map that was worth anything I wouldn't be as interested in the SMART hardware. So I can see where you are coming from.

The whole SMART upgrade is a little to "fluid." However, I just got my car running and I am looking forward to the whole v3 upgrade with smart.

The reason I'm excited about SMART is that it will be adaptable when the weather changes or when you fill up at a station whose premium isn't as good as another when you're traveling, etc.

If you have a baseline map that hasn't been custom tuned you will probably see some gains with smart.....espeically if you are a risk taker and you want to run the bleeding edge of performance AFR and timing.

I have since removed my SMART and I noticed the partial throttle changes more than the WOT changes. In the months to come I imagine SMART will be enhanced with more elaborate algorithms and upgrades to make it even more beneficial. Even though I sold my unit I seriously hope to see some dyno's showing nice gains with SMART.

The fuel switch map doesn't permit the smart fuel adjustments to occur until a very high load (e.g. WOT), thus if you felt partial throttle changes I would suggest it was because timing was pulled when knock was detected.
