Interesting...Narrowband convertor

This is pretty interesting, just saw this. It is a "black box" from PLX that can convert any narrowband A/F guage to read wideband readings:

http://www.plxdevices.com/NB_WB_GaugeConv.htm

Now, you say, why not just get the AEM, Innovate or even the PLX one? Well, I have all Defi guages and it would be "nice" to have an A/F guage that matches my set, not to mention the combined package (Defi Guage and black box) would probably be less expensive than a wideband guage:

Only problem is...I have SMART XEDE and they use the Innovate LC-1 for the integrated wideband...

My question is: I wonder if this can be somehow converted to be used with the Innovate setup (even though PLX states it can only be used with their stuff) or if Innovate (or anybody else, for that matter) makes something similar?

Anyway, just more random mumbling from me...lol...

Actually the LC-1 can output a 0-1v signal that can be used with cheapo A/F gauges. However, the signal is linear, rather than a narrowband sensor which is basically just up (edit:rich) or down(edit:lean). In other words, those blinky lights would actually be indicitive of true A/F under load. There's a whole bunch of info in the LC-1 manual.

EDIT: I wasn't clear. The LC-1 should be able to output _both_ a 0-1v and 0-5v reading simultaneously. So you can use smart and your cheap...er...inexpensive gauge at the same time. I've actually been thinking about picking up a low rent voltmeter that displays voltage and mounting it somewhere in the cabin.
