Since most of you guys on this board are smarter than me when it comes to these cars...I thought you could help.

After changing over to the SMART system and downloading the Smart "base" maps...I did have custom tuned maps from Shiv, the car now has a much worse smell while idling and even a slight bit of black smoke from exhaust. I thought the change in maps would not affect the closed loop AFR's, why the rich idle?

Also, while cruising on freeway at 3000 rpm, I rolled on gas to accelerate around some traffic. the car spiked up to 24 PSI (91 oct) and studdered(knocked) very bad. I'm wondering why this would happen when using a base map off of the Vishnu site?

do you have a bleeder? i had one in there and was running an off the shelf map which was made for no bleeder and as a result was boosting around the same. i took the bleeder out and it was much better.

just a thought.

 

thanks. I dont think there is a bleeder on the car. I will check and make sure, as that would make sense.
